Persephone by Gianni Lee. Curated by Tam Gryn. In Partnership with ArtPool x Boson Protocol.

This NFT collection by artist Gianni Lee for Artpool, curated by Tam Gryn demonstrates the omnipresent lingering of voyeurism in the Metaverse. Gianni uses a futurist vocabulary that addresses many different  contemporary social and political issues. The work incorporates time as well as space – in the form of a fictional and experiential character that emerges in a new universe.

This series demonstrates how our digital reality can extend beyond its own subjective limits in the transition from Web2 to Web3 and tells a story about the effects of global cultural interaction over the past two years. It challenges the binaries we continually reconstruct between tangible and alternate realities, between our own physical and digital self expression.

Gianni’s works directly responds to the Metaverse environment and uses concrete street art experiences from his career as a starting point. With an imaginary approach, his works references exploration of new frontiers merging several seemingly incompatible worlds into a new universe. He tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way and involve the viewer as a player in a way that urges us to renegotiate art in this nascent unexplored context of community owned culture.
